Ways to Tell Our Stories: A Workshop with Ann Elizabeth Carson

Traditional wisdom teaches that we are our stories. Not to tell your story is to forget your life. Why do we remember what we remember? How do we remember our stories? With examples from her own and others’ work, Ann Elizabeth Carson, author, poet and artist, invites participants to explore with her the many ways memoir is “written” in word, images, music and dance. As we discover the moments that shaped our lives we learn more about ourselves. We see how the ways that we have lived are important to us now, to our own survival and how they relate to the global issues of today.
